Loyalty guide

How to create a loyalty program for a spray tan business

A loyalty program should be easy to explain in one breath and valuable enough that the client cares about reaching the next reward.

1. Pick the behavior you actually want to encourage.

Most programs reward visits, but you can also think about referrals, reviews or retail depending on your goals. Do not create ten earning rules at once. Start with the behavior most connected to retention or growth.

02

2. Make the reward financially sustainable.

Know the approximate value and cost of the reward before launching it. A loyalty program is supposed to increase lifetime value, not quietly erase the margin on clients who were already coming back.

03

3. Let clients see progress.

Visible progress makes the program real. If the client has to ask you how many punches she has every time, the system is creating admin instead of reducing it.

04

4. Track whether it changes behavior.

Watch return rate, average time between visits and reward redemption. A program that gets used but does not improve retention may need a different threshold or reward.
